Hands on Experience in Lacware Craft
Duration: 1 Hour
Description: Craft enthusiasts can enjoy a hands-on experience with lacware craft, learning the art of wood turning and lac application under the guidance of a master artisan.

Customized Sample Making
Description: A master craftsman will create a customized sample based on the specifications or drawings provided by the customer or visitor.

Children’s Introduction to Traditional Channapatna Toy Making
Description: Children will be introduced to the traditional Channapatna toy-making process through a guided tour of the Artisanpride work facility. They will learn about the history of this unique handicraft, its special features, and its significance. Following the tour, children will participate in a simple do-it-yourself (DIY) toy-making activity, allowing them to create and take home their own handcrafted toy.

Activity 1 – Chitte (Flapping Butterfly Toy)
Children can color pre-printed butterfly wing patterns, cut them out, and assemble them on a wooden body to create a pull-along flapping butterfly toy.

Activity 2 – Key Chain Assembly
Children will receive various components of an Android key chain along with assembly instructions. They will be guided through the process of assembling their own key chain, which they can take home with them.

Activity 3 – Color Mixing with Tops
Children will color disc patterns printed on paper, cut them out, and mount them on wooden spinning tops. By spinning the tops, they can visually mix colors and explore the science of color mixing in a fun and interactive way.

Activity 4 – Science of Action Toys
Children will engage in a discussion about the mechanisms behind various simple action toys at Artisanpride. They will have the opportunity to assemble some toy models themselves, gaining hands-on understanding of these basic mechanisms.

Activity 5 – Design and Make a Spinning Top
Children will start by drawing a design for a wooden spinning top on a graph sheet, including measurements. An artisan will then create the spinning top based on their design. Children will participate in the wood-turning and lac application process, gaining hands-on experience and taking home their custom-made spinning top.
Age Group: 13 to 15 years
